I posted the entry Free Books Online on one of my LinkedIn groups, and received back some other great links:
From Paul Wilson:
From Ronald Snijder:
Here are some others I stumbled on to while perusing the above links:
- The Book Depository
- Book Rags: This site has books, study guides, and lesson plans along with much more
- Public Bookshelf for romance novels
- Free Books, specializing in audio books
- Free eBook of the Day
- Literature Masters for free online novels
- 10 Free Science Fiction Books Online
- Small Beer Press
These are just a selection of site. There must be hundreds of sites offering free eBooks or free online books.
Happy reading
Spending time with an agent to sell the idea before the book is written may clarify whether or not the book should be written in the first place. After all, the market may already be saturated with books about how to cook frogs and other potential road kill. The time spent marketing the idea is well spent if the author discovers that and avoids one more of such books. Then again, the author might find a publisher that is interested enough and encouraging enough to start the author writing.
